DESCRIPTION:\n\nRegistration fees for webinars are $175/member and $300/non-member unless otherwise noted in an event description.\nNDHA is an approved provider of continuing education by the North Dakota Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators.\n\n\n\n\nDate: 10/21/21\n9:00 – 11:00 AM\n\n\n\n\n\nOVERVIEW:\nThis session will focus on the identification of common construction related risks and how best to mitigate them.  Drawing upon decades of experience, the presentation will include real world examples of construction failures and how best to avoid them.\nLEARNING OBJECTIVES:\n\nIdentify common challenges during construction within a healthcare facility.\nDescribe how to perform better risk assessments and create mitigation plans.\nExplain the development of monitoring and documentation plans.\n\nSPEAKER:\nSteve Spaanbroek is a founding partner of MSL Healthcare Partners, Inc., and has over 28 years of national consulting experience in the Environment of Care™ and facilities management. He is a frequent speaker in the field of health care safety, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement. Steve served as a Faculty Member for the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association, teaching both the Healthcare Construction Certificate and Environment of Care courses. Steve was an active faculty member from 2004 to 2021 and has participated in seminar development for Purdue University, the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), and The Joint Commission.\nSteve has served on several ASHE committees, including Advocacy, Customer Relations, Facilities Management, and Education. Steve received his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from East Carolina University, Greenville, NC, where he also earned a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in health care.\nThis speaker has no real or perceived conflicts of interest that relate to this presentation.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n
