Anyone can be vulnerable to traffickers but raising awareness of human trafficking empowers medical providers and community members to recognize and respond to this crime. Participants will be educated and empowered to make a difference in their professional roles, local communities and in the lives of those affected by human trafficking.\n\n\n\n\nSPEAKER:Jeri Moomaw is a recognized national expert on human trafficking and currently serves as Founder and Executive Director of Innovations Human Trafficking Collaborative. Her experience creating custom screening tools, training curriculum, and facilitated human trafficking response plans contributes to her powerful presentation. Jeri draws on her 20 years of professional experience developing and overseeing programs, creating curriculum and training content to combat commercial sexual exploitation, human trafficking, gangs, including violence against youth and women. Jeri’s trainings are highly regarded as best practice. She is a consultant for the Department of Homeland Security Blue Campaign, U.S. Department of Justice Office for Victims of Crime, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office on Trafficking in Person consultant networks as a human trafficking subject matter expert. Native issues and human trafficking in Indian Country are one of Jeri’s areas of expertise. As someone who has been personally impacted by this kind of violence, she also knows first-hand the individual and the collective toll it can take. She has made it her mission to bring awareness, education, and tools to equip communities and front-line professionals to be able to recognize and respond to trafficking and violence.\n\n\n\n\n
