Central time\n\n \nRegistration fees:      $225 per facility      |     Non-Members Registration Fee:  $350 per facility\n\nRECOMMENDED AUDIENCE:\nChief Medical Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, Compliance Officer, Emergency Department Personnel, Joint Commission Coordinator, Medical Records, Quality Improvement personnel, Risk Manager, Legal Counsel.\nOVERVIEW:\nThis program will cover nursing hot topics as well as challenging nursing chapter standards with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Joint Commission (TJC). Other topics to be addressed include the CMS regulations on safe opioid use, IV medication, blood transfusions, restraints, compounding, beyond use date, history and physicals, verbal orders, informed  consent, plan of care, timing of medications and the post anesthesia evaluation. CMS memos on insulin pens, safe injection practices, worksheets, organ procurement organizations, humidity, and privacy and confidentiality will also be addressed. Additionally, interpreters and low health literacy will be discussed to help hospitals comply with CMS and TJC standards, as well as OCR Section 1557 on signage, patient rights, nondiscrimination, qualified interpreters and 2020 changes.\n\nOBJECTIVES:\n\nAt the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:\n\nDescribe the CMS memos and how they impact nursing including infection control.\nRecall changes to medications including timing of medication administration.\nRecite that every hospital should have a safe injection practices policy that follows the CDC guidelines.\nDiscuss the impact of informed consent changes on nursing.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSPEAKERS: \nNash Healthcare Consulting\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n
