The North Dakota Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Medicare Bootcamp is an essential event designed to provide healthcare professionals working in Critical Access Hospitals with in-depth knowledge of Medicare regulations, reimbursement and compliance surrounding the Medicare cost report. This interactive session will cover the vital topics that directly impact the Medicare reimbursement of CAHs. Attendees will gain valuable insights into Medicare cost report basics along with various strategies to manage CAH cost reimbursement. The session will offer insight regarding recent reviews of the Medicare cost report by various Medicare Administrative Contractors.

Objectives:

– General understanding of the various worksheets of the Medicare cost report, purpose of the worksheet and data needed from the hospital to determine Medicare reimbursement.

– Employing cost report strategies and best practices to ensure that CAHs optimize reimbursement while staying compliant with Medicare requirements.

– Navigating recent changes to Medicare regulations, including MAC interpretations, adjustments, and changing rules and regulations.

– Understanding the Medicare cost report, how to report costs accurately, and obtaining appropriate reimbursement.
