Clinical Placement Opportunities

Clinical Placement Opportunities

The NDHA Workforce Task Force groups that met over this last summer identified the need to increase communication and opportunities to place health profession students in hospital settings.

We would like to encourage hospitals to post opportunities for students to complete their preceptorship, internship or residency. Hosting clinical students is a great recruitment tool for hospitals and also provides a much needed service to the health care community.

We would like to encourage all healthcare educational programs to post clinical placement requests. Expanding the availability of clinical placements across all hospitals across the state including rural locations can help alleviate congestion at urban hospitals and also expand awareness of rural opportunities.

Procedural Guidelines

  • Health care educational programs who would like to post clinical placement requests and health care facilities who would like to post internship/resident/preceptorship opportunities should send information to Pam Cook at pcook@ndha.org . Pam will maintain the website.
  • The posting information should be sent to Pam in a “ready to post” format that concisely describes the clinical placement or position requested. Contact information should also be included.
  • Health care facilities are encouraged to include information about housing or host families in the community that are available for students as well as any other information that may be enticing.
  • In order to keep the site current, the request/announcement will remain posted for one month; at that time it will be automatically removed. A request can be made to re-post the request/announcement that has not been filled.
