OSHA Hospital-Based First Receiver Training
Date: January – April, 2024
This training is free for North Dakota hospitals. Please limit your registration to 3 individuals. If open spots remain closer to the training date, they will be made available on a first come, first serve basis.
OVERVIEW:
As you know, this is a federal annual OSHA requirement and surveyors from both state and national organizations are commonly asking for the records of staff members who would receive contaminated patients at your facility.
Registration will open at 8:30 a.m. with the program beginning promptly at 9:00 am central time, and ending at 5:00 pm. Lunch and snacks will be provided. The program will consist of didactic presentations in the morning, and part of the afternoon. Then hands-on practical sessions with various types of respirators and PPE supplies will take place for the remainder of the day. The program will focus mainly on chemical response but will also include information on biological/infectious response.
In an effort to make the learning event as streamlined and effective as possible, you will need to bring an electronic device (laptop, notebook) to view the course curriculum information as the trainers go through the course. No manuals will be handed out. Materials will be on a USB flash drive so your device will need that capability. The USB flash drive is yours to keep.
Some of the content does not run well on a Mac/Apple device. Chrome as a browser is needed for some of the programs. Do Not plan on using your phone – much of the content will not appear on the screen when using a cell phone.
